Updated Law on Controlled Substance Prescribing
At the conclusion, the participant should be able to:
1) STATE that the new Florida Law on Controlled Substance Prescribing will go into effect on July 1, 2018; 2) ESTABLISH the educational requirements for the updated law and their deadlines; 3) APPLY E-FORCSE and DETERMINE when it is required to verify on their database, and potential consequences if it is not; 4) DEFINE pain, and apply it to the updated law; 5) OUTLINE controlled substance prescribing and the limits on each prescription, and the exceptions; 6) EVALUATE the eCW updates on prescriptions, and optimizing the ability to add notes; 7) DETERMINE the partnership with pain management in the communities surrounding the clinics, and utilizing their help. Questions and answers will allow for audience participation.
