SHH Pediatric Grand Rounds
The Mental and Social Well-Being of Children with Chronic Illness and Disability
Dr. Mia Marshall PGY-2 presenting
Objectives: At the conclusion, the participant should be able to:
1) DEFINE what constitutes special needs in children and adolescents; 2) REPORT on prevalence of mental health issues i children with special needs; 3) EVALUATE the impact of chronic conditions on the developmental trajectory of children and adolescents; 4) DISCUSS how to address mental health issues; 5) LIST available resources in the local community to address and support these issues.
Questions and answers will allow for audience participation.
