Finding and Using Drug Resources (Web and Mobile)

Participant Learning Objectives: As a result of participating in this workshop, participants should be able to: o LOCATE the “Drug Reference Page” on the medical library website o Quickly LOCATE desired basic prescription drug information (dosage, indication, etc.) online and on the PDA o LOCATE information about a herbal medication online and on the PDA o CALCULATE a drug dosage using an electronic resource o IDENTIFY if a drug is on a particular formulary and LOCATE alternatives o PERFORM a check for drug interactions from a list of multiple medications o USE an infectious disease guide to identify the recommended antibiotic for a particular pathogen or condition o IDENTIFY a pill from it’s imprint or description o USE an immunization schedule tool to determine the appropriate immunization for specific populations. Questions and answers will allow for audience participation.
