FCOM 2025: AAO-HNS President Report
Academy Update
Academy President will provide critical updates on strategic initiatives and emphasize why specialty unity through Academy membership is essential in today's challenging healthcare environment.
We'll examine our robust value proposition—from advocacy victories that protect your practice to exclusive educational resources and professional networks that advance your career. I'll highlight our role as otolaryngology's definitive voice in Washington and across the medical community.
The Academy serves as our profession's "Big Tent," standing tall and extending wide to shelter every subspecialty, protect every member's interests, and represent the full spectrum of otolaryngology practice. This isn't just about membership—it's about securing our specialty's future and ensuring otolaryngologists continue to lead in head and neck care.
Together, we are stronger, more influential, and better positioned to serve our patients and advance our field.
By the end of this presentation, participants will be able to:
1. Identify the Academy's current strategic priorities and how they directly impact individual otolaryngology practices and the modern practice of otolaryngology.
2. Explain the comprehensive value proposition of Academy membership (including education, meetings, political representation and advocacy.
3. Articulate the importance of specialty unity and how individual participation strengthens the collective voice of otolaryngology
