After receiving her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch, Dr. Mehta completed pediatric residency training at the Tulane University Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. She later completed her pediatric cardiology fellowship at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center and is board certified in pediatric cardiology. Dr. Mehta moved to Pensacola in 2004 and has served as Chair of Medicine prior to assuming the Chief Medical Officer position at Nemours Children’s Specialty Care in 2013. She has served as President of the Sacred Heart Medical Staff, as well as on the Ronald McDonald House Board, helping with the successful campaign to build the new 27-room house to serve more families traveling for specialized pediatric care.
