Using Drug References
Participant Learning Objectives:
As a result of participating in this workshop, participants should be able to:
1) LOCATE the “Drug Reference Page” on the medical library website; 2) Quickly LOCATE desired basic prescription drug information (dosage, indication, etc.) online and on the PDA; 3)LOCATE information about a herbal medication online and on the PDA; 4)CALCULATE a drug dosage using an electronic resource; 5)IDENTIFY if a drug is on a particular formulary and locate alternatives; 6)PERFORM a check for drug interactions from a list of multiple medications; 7) USE an infectious disease guide to identify the recommended antibiotic for a particular pathogen or condition; 8)IDENTIFY a pill from it’s imprint or description; 9)USE an immunization schedule tool to determine the appropriate immunization for specific populations.
Questions and answers will allow for audience participation.
