Writing Letters of Recommendation for Residency
At the conclusion, the participant should be able to:
1) DESCRIBE the elements/parts of a reference letter (e.g. extent of letter writer's contact with student, medical abilities, personal characteristics, etc.) 2.EXPLAIN how the categories on the "End of Clerkship Evaluation Form" can be helpful in writing a recommendation letter 3.CRITIQUE actual examples of a letter of recommendation 4.DESCRIBE how to respond to a student requesting a recommendation 5.DESCRIBE the official format and requirements of a recommendation letter, including how it applies to ERAS. 6.QUESTIONS and answers for audience participation.
