FSO Journal Club: Neurotology

Neurotology

This journal club will review and critically assess recent peer-reviewed research in otology and neurotology, with discussion focused on the quality of the evidence, clinical relevance, and potential impact on patient evaluation and management. Topics include spontaneous cerebrospinal fluid leak repair, sudden sensorineural hearing loss, cochlear implant electrode selection, and Mal de Débarquement syndrome. The session is designed to strengthen critical appraisal skills while exploring how emerging evidence may influence clinical decision-making and patient care. Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to: Evaluate recent evidence related to the diagnosis and management of selected otologic and neurotologic conditions. Assess study design, methodology, results, and limitations when interpreting clinical research. Compare published findings with current clinical approaches and determine their relevance to patient care. Identify areas where current evidence supports practice change or where additional research is needed.
