Florida Combined Otolaryngology Meeting 2024 – Biologics and Immunotherapy
Biologics, Immunotherapy
This session will explore the expanding role of biologics and immunotherapy in the management of chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP), allergic rhinitis, and other upper airway inflammatory diseases. With the advent of biologic agents targeting specific inflammatory pathways, and advances in immunotherapy techniques, ENT specialists are now equipped with new tools to personalize treatment and improve patient outcomes. This discussion will provide an in-depth look at the latest evidence-based approaches, patient selection criteria, and practical strategies for integrating biologics and immunotherapy into clinical practice.
Attendees will be able to:
1. Discuss the mechanisms of action, indications, and efficacy of biologic therapies in treating chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) and severe allergic rhinitis, and identify appropriate patient candidates.
2. Review advancements in immunotherapy, including subcutaneous and sublingual immunotherapy, and their role in long-term management of allergic rhinitis and comorbid conditions.
3. Evaluate practical considerations for incorporating biologics and immunotherapy into clinical practice, including patient monitoring, safety, and strategies for optimizing adherence and outcomes.
