ECMS Dinner Meeting – Prescribing Controlled Substances: The Florida Requirement
Controlled Substance Prescribing
1. Comply with the Florida Controlled Substances Bill (HB21)
2. Identify the requirements of HB 21 including but not limited to: opioid abuse by establishing prescribing limits, continuing education on controlled substance prescribing, expanding required use of Florida’s Prescription Drug Monitoring Program and E-FORCSE
3. Review CDC guidelines for treating acute and chronic pain
4. Complete the States required 2hr CME credit.
