At the conclusion, the participant should be able to: DISCUSS the epidemiology and pathophysiology of Osteoporosis and OUTLINE the socio-economic impact of the disease; APPLY the information to DEVELOP treatment options in the primary care setting. IDENTIFY risk factors, therapies and strategies for prevention of C. Difficile, MRSA, and VRE infections in the outpatient setting; DESCRIBE resistance mechanism treatments of emerging resistant pathogens including carbapenemase-producing klebsiella and ESBL-producing gram negative bacteria. OUTLINE different devices available for treatment of arrhythmia; PRESCRIBE the proper implantable device. INCREASE the understanding of the factors that contribute to commiting medical errors; REINFORCE basic error prevention techniques to reduce medical errors. IDENTIFY common psychiatric disorders in the primary setting and acquire better knowledge in the proper management of these disorders. APPLY the most up-to-date diabetes information to develop proper treatment plans for diabetic patients in the primary care setting. Properly DIAGNOSE fibromyalgia in patients in the primary care setting; DESCRIBE available pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions.
