Head Imaging for Pediatric Head Trauma in the Emergency Department Setting: A Discussion of 3 Clinical Decision-Making Tools
At the conclusion, the participant should be able to:
1) DISCUSS the risks of radiation exposure from computed tomography, particularly in the pediatric population; 2) IDENTIFY methods to reduce the risks incurred by this exposure; 3) COMPARE the 3 currently available clinical decision-making tools available to guide imaging in pediatric head trauma; 4) DISCUSS local imaging trends, and PROPOSE an area of opportunity for a quality improvement research project. Questions and answers will allow for audience participation.
