Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome: A Review of Pathophysiology and New Recommendations
Dr. Jaclyn Havinga presenting:
Objectives: 1. DEFINE neonatal abstinence syndrome and review the pathophysiology of the disease; 2. DISCUSS current screening guidelines for NAS and their ethical implications; 3. REVIEW current standards of diagnosis and treatment of NAS, especially as practiced in our own institution; 4. REVIEW new recommendations in the literature in regards to both diagnosis and treatment.
