SUMMARY:Monarch Master Injectors: Sclerotherapy Training
DESCRIPTION:Aesthetic medicine providers performing sclerotherapy may lack comprehensive knowledge of lower-extremity venous anatomy\, vein classification\, and appropriate patient selection\, potentially leading to ineffective treatment and increased risk of complications. Gaps in clinical competency may include the inability to distinguish cosmetic telangiectasias and reticular veins from underlying venous insufficiency\, recognize contraindications\, and determine when further vascular evaluation or referral is warranted. Additionally\, inconsistent injection techniques and insufficient familiarity with complication prevention and management may compromise patient safety\, treatment efficacy\, and aesthetic outcomes. \nAesthetic medicine providers need evidence-based education and practical training to strengthen their understanding of venous anatomy\, vein classification\, and appropriate patient assessment for sclerotherapy. Education should emphasize identifying suitable candidates\, recognizing contraindications\, selecting appropriate treatment approaches\, and preventing and managing complications such as hyperpigmentation\, tissue injury\, thrombosis\, and allergic reactions. Hands-on instruction is needed to develop competency in safe injection techniques\, appropriate sclerosant selection and administration\, and procedural safety protocols to improve patient outcomes. \nOutline vein anatomy and classification.\nDefine sclerotherapy.\nIdentify appropriate patients\nPrevent and manage complications\nPerform sclerotherapy injections safely. \nFollowing participation\, learners should be better equipped to appropriately evaluate patients\, distinguish cosmetic venous concerns from underlying vascular disease\, safely perform sclerotherapy within their scope of practice\, and recognize and manage potential complications.

SUMMARY:Monarch Master Injectors: Introductory Microneedling & Dermaplaning
DESCRIPTION:Aesthetic medicine lacks national standards for training\, leading to a patchwork of programs — from accredited clinical curricula to manufacturer-sponsored weekend courses. Many practitioners enter the field with brief\, unaccredited training\, which can result in poor technique\, inadequate anatomy knowledge\, and poor emergency management. This inconsistency means some providers can perform complex procedures safely\, while others may cause complications. \nBoth dermaplaning and microneedling face significant competency and practice gaps due to inconsistent training\, unclear scope-of-practice rules\, and rapid market growth without standardized oversight. \nMicroneedling is a prime example of a procedure where the line between cosmetic and medical practice is defined by needle depth. Devices set below ~0.3 mm are often considered cosmetic and may be performed by estheticians in permissive states\, but deeper dermal-level microneedling is generally the practice of medicine restricted to licensed clinicians (NPs\, PAs\, RNs\, physicians) under delegation or medical direction. This creates a market-regulation mismatch: many providers offer “microneedling” under a cosmetic label but perform deeper treatments without the required credentials\, risking legal and safety issues. \nWhile dermaplaning is often marketed as a simple exfoliation\, it can cause microtrauma and\, if performed on sensitive skin or with improper technique\, may trigger inflammation\, infection\, or even trigger acne in predisposed patients. \nLearners will:\nDescribe the anatomy and physiology of the skin as it relates to dermaplaning and microneedling.\nIdentify appropriate patient candidates through consultation\, assessment\, and contraindication screening.\nExplain the mechanisms of collagen induction therapy and epidermal exfoliation.\nSelect appropriate devices\, cartridges\, needle depths based on patient presentation.\nDemonstrate proper infection prevention\, aseptic technique\, and procedural safety.\nPerform dermaplaning using proper blade selection\, angulation\, skin tension\, and stroke technique.\nPerform microneedling using appropriate treatment parameters while recognizing expected clinical endpoints.\nCompare the post-treatment erythema.\nDevelop individualized treatment plans and provide appropriate post-procedure instructions.\nSuccessfully demonstrate procedural competency through a faculty-observed hands-on skills assessment.

SUMMARY:Monarch Master Injectors: Novice Lip Filler Training
DESCRIPTION:Aesthetic medicine lacks national standards for training\, leading to a patchwork of programs — from accredited clinical curricula to manufacturer-sponsored weekend courses. Many practitioners enter the field with brief\, unaccredited training\, which can result in poor technique\, inadequate anatomy knowledge\, and poor emergency management. This inconsistency means some providers can perform complex procedures safely\, while others may cause complications. \nMany injectors focus on checklist-based technique but neglect hands-on\, anatomy-integrated training and simulated injection practice. This can leave them unprepared for real-time decision-making in high-risk areas\, like lip filler. Even with correct technique\, analog skills — unmeasurable\, experiential abilities — are critical for lip filler injection safety. \nLip filler is the most complaint-prone injectable due to its visibility and high patient expectations. A thorough understanding of patient anatomy\, risk areas\, tissue depth and complication management is crucial to patient safety. \nUpon completion of this educational activity\, participants will be able to:\nDescribe the facial tissue layers\, lip anatomy\, and vascular structures relevant to safe dermal filler injection.\nExplain the composition\, properties\, indications\, and clinical applications of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers.\nSelect appropriate products based on patient anatomy and treatment goals.\nPerform comprehensive patient assessment\, lip mapping\, and individualized treatment planning.\nDemonstrate proper handling\, storage\, preparation\, and injection techniques using retrograde linear threading.\nSafely perform upper and lower lip augmentation while maintaining natural facial proportions and symmetry.\nRecognize early signs of vascular occlusion and implement appropriate emergency management\, including the use of hyaluronidase.\nCounsel patients on post-treatment expectations\, aftercare\, and follow-up recommendations.\nSuccessfully demonstrate procedural competency through a faculty-observed hands-on skills assessment.

SUMMARY:Monarch Master Injectors: PRP and PRF Course
DESCRIPTION:As platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) continue to gain popularity in aesthetic medicine\, providers are increasingly incorporating these regenerative treatments into facial rejuvenation\, scalp rejuvenation\, and microneedling procedures. However\, variations in provider training\, blood collection and processing techniques\, treatment protocols\, and patient selection contribute to inconsistencies in clinical application and patient outcomes. Many aesthetic practitioners lack comprehensive knowledge of the differences between PRP and PRF\, their respective clinical indications\, contraindications\, and evidence-based applications. Additionally\, insufficient hands-on training may limit providers’ ability to safely prepare and administer these treatments\, creating potential risks related to infection control\, procedural complications\, and suboptimal outcomes. \nAesthetic medicine providers require comprehensive education and practical training to strengthen their understanding of PRP and PRF technologies\, appropriate clinical applications\, and safe treatment techniques. Education is needed to differentiate PRP from PRF\, identify appropriate treatment indications\, and establish competency in blood collection\, processing\, and preparation protocols. Providers must also improve their ability to evaluate patient candidacy\, recognize contraindications\, conduct informed consultations\, and appropriately integrate these therapies into facial rejuvenation\, scalp rejuvenation\, and microneedling procedures. Supervised hands-on training is necessary to reinforce procedural skills\, promote patient safety\, and support consistent\, evidence-informed clinical practice. \nOutline the differences between PRP and PRF and identify the appropriate uses for each.\nOutline blood collection\, processing and preparation.\nDiscuss applications in facial rejuvenation\, scalp rejuvenation and microneedling.\nDiscuss patient selection\, consultation and contraindications.\nApply skills in hands-on skills lab.

SUMMARY:Monarch Master Injectors: All Levels Neurotoxin Course
DESCRIPTION:Many practitioners lack continuous\, advanced training in facial anatomy\, neurotoxin preparation\, patient consultation and technique. Without regular updates on injection strategies\, facial anatomy\, and product-specific behavior\, competence can decline. Regular training\, especially hands on and simulation training\, has been shown to improve skill by up to 25%\, but not all providers engage in such programs. \nThis program divides a full day into novice neurotoxin (first half of day) and advanced neurotoxin (second half of day). During the novice portion\, learners review patient anatomy and infection prevention protocols\, as well as outline patient consult and product preparation. All FDA-approved products are reviewed with appropriate storage and reconstitution. Technique and injection mapping for the frontalis\, glabellar complex\, and orbicularis oculi is also thoroughly outlined. Learners must demonstrate skills on practicum in order to advance to the advanced portion (second half of day). \nThe advanced neurotoxin expands the curriculum into neurotoxin mapping\, assessment\, preparation and technique to the following areas:\nMasseter\, Mentalis\, DAO\, Platysmal bands\, Lip flip\, Bunny lines\, Gummy smile\, Chin. Dose adjustments and complication management are heavily emphasized. The session ends with a clinical lab skills checkoff.

SUMMARY:Allergy - How To Do It
DESCRIPTION:This thorough\, self-paced enduring activity is designed to address the gaps that persist in allergy testing. There are multiple evidence-based\, insurance-covered modalities for testing for allergies. This course is designed to narrow that gap and train physician offices to expand their practice into allergy testing. It is also designed to address the gaps in undiagnosed allergies and patient treatment by providing thorough demonstrations and outlines for assessing and treating patients with allergies. \nFollowing this program\, learners will define the etiology of URD\, pain and inflammation and outline the considerations for arriving at treatment decisions. \nLearners will apply evidence-based methodologies using history\, physical and diagnostic testing in making an accurate diagnosis. \nLearners will discuss the clinical role of skin testing and/or blood testing for IGE in determining the true etiology as well as their benefit in the disease management process. \nFinally\, learners will incorporate the best suited management options and conduct appropriate testing and treating.
