PRF is a natural\, biocompatible matrix made from the patient’s own blood\, which is processed to concentrate platelets and other blood components involved in the healing process. This matrix provides a scaffold for cells to attach and grow\, and the concentrated platelets release growth factors to stimulate the body’s natural healing process. We will discuss various indications for PRF\, as well as the preparation\, application\, and benefits of this innovative procedure. Clinical considerations\, as well as case studies will also be reviewed and there will be an in-depth hands on lab whereby students prepare PRF using a model’s blood with a cannula\, including proper handling and sterilization. .
