SUMMARY:Allergy - How To Do It
DESCRIPTION:More than 100 million people in the U.S. experience various types of allergies each year\, but many individuals go undiagnosed due to the complexity of allergy symptoms and the lack of formal diagnosis. According to a recent survey\, 65% of individuals with unexplained symptoms discovered hidden allergens as the root cause of their ailments. This indicates that a significant number of people may not seek medical care for their allergies\, leading to an underestimation of the actual prevalence of allergic conditions. \nThis thorough\, self-paced enduring activity is designed to address the gaps that persist in allergy testing. There are multiple evidence-based\, insurance-covered modalities for testing for allergies. This course is designed to narrow that gap and train physician offices to expand their practice into allergy testing. It is also designed to address the gaps in undiagnosed allergies and patient treatment by providing thorough demonstrations and outlines for assessing and treating patients with allergies. \nFollowing this program\, learners will define the etiology of URD\, pain and inflammation and outline the considerations for arriving at treatment decisions. \nLearners will apply evidence-based methodologies using history\, physical and diagnostic testing in making an accurate diagnosis. \nLearners will discuss the clinical role of skin testing and/or blood testing for IGE in determining the true etiology as well as their benefit in the disease management process. \nFinally\, learners will incorporate the best suited management options and conduct appropriate testing and treating.
